About Lightning Varsity Athletics

Lightning Athletics is a varsity program dedicated to the achievement of personal growth and excellence for its student-athletes through competitive intercollegiate sport. Lightning Athletics offers personal and sporting development pathways for its coaches and student-athletes, and enhances the university experience for all participants by engaging them in a holistic manner.

St. Mary's is currently transitioning into the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and will begin competing at this level in basketball in 2012. The ACAC is widely considered the strongest collegiate athletic conference in Canada outside of Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS).
